Information: The Choking Game

Heard an interview on Meet the Peetes on XM radio this morning. They interviewed a woman who's son died playing the choking game. It's not a new game and I remember kids playing it when I was growing up. But it is very dangerous and apparently has become a very popular game with kids today. Don’t Miss the Rock-n-Tot Event TODAY!!

Today is the Rock-n-Tot event in Washington, DC at the Ultra Bar from 2-5pm.

Before my house became the incubus of viral plague, I planned to be there with my girls, but we are still under the weather and don't want to pass our germs onto anyone else. So, unfortunately we will not be there.

I hope the contest winners and their families have a great time today. I encourage everyone to head on over to the Ultra Bar for the Rock-n-Tot event.

Question of the day:

How has single parenthood changed you and what (if any) lifestyle changes have you had to make?

Germs Germs and More Germs

Don't you just love it when your kids get sick and they wanna get all up in your face and lay up under you, just to pass their nasty little germs onto you?

My youngest was sick this past weekend and she kindly passed her germs onto me and my oldest, who is home sick today and now I feel like a bus ran over me; twice.

Meanwhile, the youngest child is just as perky and upbeat as ever and feeling great!

Aaah, the joys of parenting. Somebody pass me the tissue box…….

Morning Rant:

I'm sure many of you have heard about the major beef recall. Can I just say that I am truly disgusted and pissed about it. This is one of the reasons why I have pretty much taken beef out of our diets. Apparently this slack ass meat company slalughtered sick cows and shipped that crap to public schools (thank goodness, I make my kids lunch 95% of the time). The fear is that the beef has already been consumed.

This is a DAMN shame to say the least. These are children we're talking about. I know there are other serious things going on in the world; war, famine, poverty, but damn, if the powers that be can waste time persecuting athletes for using steroids and HGH, then they can certainly tighten up the regulations so that diseased beef isn't shipped to the masses.

I'm just saying…………..

Summer will be here before we know it

Every summer I have to figure out what the heck the kids are going to do. Up until 2005, they would go to a day camp by my moms. I was just thinking; I have no idea what they are going to do this summer. My youngest is in girl scouts, so there may be an opportunity there for summer camp (I need to inquire about that). My oldest wants to work (I’m still on the fence about that). So this summer should be pretty dang interesting. Whatever the kids are going to do, I better get working on it now because summer will be here before we know it.

What are your kids doing this summer?
