Heard an interview on Meet the Peetes on XM radio this morning. They interviewed a woman who's son died playing the choking game. It's not a new game and I remember kids playing it when I was growing up. But it is very dangerous and apparently has become a very popular game with kids today. I saw this story on the news and I was totally caught off guard. I’ve never heard of this. I have been truly covered throughout my life. I just couldn’t (and still really can’t) wrap my mind around children cutting their circulation off for a high. What are they thinking about? Are they even thinking at all?! I talked to my 9 year old daughter..well I pretty much told her that if she encounters this situation to tell the person/people that her momma said that choking yourself is not cool nor is it fun and if I find out that she was involved ; I am going to choke her myself and not in a game playing fashion…lol. I was kidding about choking her, but she got my point. I think we seriously need to find better outlets for our children if this type of game is what they think is fun. Whatever happened to kickball and jacks?
